Montecampione®

Montecampione® is an ELEUSI GmbH research project which aims to obtain a fast preview of multi-slice DICOM studies.
The word "Montecampione" is a portmanteau of Montecarlo (the well-known class of computational algorithms) and Campione (Italian word for "sample" and also for "champion").
In fact, the method is based on the evaluation of the image stack through a simulation process aimed at obtaining only some sample images that are statistically relevant.

The research project is based on three levels:

• The first level is intended for quick review of historicized images. It has no diagnostic purpose.

• The second level involves the use of Machine Learning techniques to identify the Key Images of a study. It has no diagnostic purpose but is intended as a tool for the Radiologist.

• The third level provides for the clinical validation of the algorithm, and is in the definition phase.
